Paul Harrison, EDF’s Coastal Louisiana Project Manager is in town here in SF and liked yesterday’s blog post so much he asked me to make a similar map he could show to Californians.
Just a FYI on how I actually make these maps:
1) The data is downloadable from LA Coast
2) Then in my GIS, I use a tool to literally drag the data and superimpose it over another area. This maintains the true area, scale, and shape of the data so that it remains true without abstraction.
